The objective of the Alliance Committee is to make the neighborhood a better place for all Morris Plains residents. Studies show that certain factors in the schools, family, and community, increase the risk of alcohol and other drug-related problems, pollution in the area, health-related issues.

MPMAC (Morris Plains Municipal Alliance Committee) members work collectively to identify, plan and implement programs to reduce these risk factors and to propose activities to strengthen resiliency against abusive habits, self-confidence, sense of self-worth and enhance self-esteem among children of our community; take measures to prevent township related pollution which could affect the health of the people in general.

These communities work on the basis of programs set to handle the issues listed above for the betterment of the community in general.

There are special programs especially for the children who might be facing issues in school or neighborhood. These programs are financed by a grant from the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders along with the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, and the Borough of Morris Plains.

Currently, there are more than 30 community alliance committees in Morris County. Meetings are usually held on the second Monday of each month at the "Center in Watnong Park".
